(More customer reviews)I bought this coffeemaker yesterday. It was an unplanned purchase because my previous one stopped working suddenly and my husband and I are not the type of people who can go even one day without coffee. We are not connoisseurs, however, as long as it comes out hot and dark and full of caffeine, we're happy! This suits our purpose. I even like it's not a digital coffeemaker. My main problem with the ones with a timer is that I generally like to leave my coffee in the pot for several hours a day, and the newer models all have an automatic shutoff which makes it necessary for me to remember to click it back on every once in a while. This one has an on/off switch, nothing fancy.
I had 3 criteria for picking this: that it use cone filters (so I could continue to use the gold filters I already own), that it make 10 to 12 cups of coffee, and that it was inexpensive enough that I could forgo the usual obsessing I do when I shop for appliances to find something "perfect". This seemed to meet all 3. However, once I got it home, I found that the grounds basket is actually too small for my two gold filters which makes the top of the basket not close completely. It looks odd, but since it doesn't affect the function of the coffeemaker, I don't think it's worth the trouble to take it back. However, this will be something I check on while I search for the "perfect" coffeemaker as a permanent replacement for this one! I would have given this coffeemaker 4 stars if not for that one thing. At this price, I think it's a good coffeemaker.
