(More customer reviews)Our cat was much more comfortable in this soft e-collar than in the plastic cone. It has a plastic frame inside the fabric which helps it keep its shape and protect the area where the stiches are. Our cat had surgery near his tail and it prevented him from licking and tearing the stiches out. The "fabric" is water-repellent and easy to keep clean and was sturdy enough to last through 2 solid weeks of wear. The soft material allows your cat to lie down and rest his head on his bed and also walk around much more comfortably. My only complaints are that the draw string clasp wasn't tight enough to stop the string from slipping, but we just tied the string in a bow and it was fine. Also, the package isn't clear on which size to buy. Our cat is 13 lbs and the "small" was way too big for him. He couldn't walk with it on because he would step on the edge of the cone. So we got the "extra-small" and it was perfect. I highly recommend you get the "extra-small" cone to help your cat endure the weeks after a surgery!
