(More customer reviews)This little, (and I do mean little) burner is really a nifty little item. Its made of a red clay, or other material that makes it resemble an old native American oven that was perhaps used to cure pottery, or even regular baking of breads and other basics. It has one hole that is the entrance, and a second higher hole on the side where the smoke escapes. Its surface inside is flat, with a rounded outer rim that easily supports any cone shaped incense. The detail on this oven is as clear as it appears in the picture. It is really cute when burning. For it appears that something is actually baking inside.
This is a really cool piece, or gift for anyone that likes burning incense, and also has a taste for either western, or native American decor. Even if you never use it for incense, it looks nice just sitting on a shelf, or desk. My only observation after actually receiving it, (beyond its being little smaller than I expected), is that the ceder scented incense that came with it is of a block, or brick design, not a cone. That means you have to either lay it down inside, (which means the ashes tend to spill out) or stand it on end, (which means it eventually falls over and the ashes spill out). The ceder incense is very nice, and authentic smelling, but I was just surprised that the very incense that came with the oven is not designed to actually fit it.
Beyond that minor annoyance, (that is by no means any reason not to buy this little oven burner) I highly recommend this cute little burner for anyone that likes the smell of incense, and is partial to native American decor as well... Well worth what their asking. Especially if you order other incense with it and get the free shipping thrown in...
Update: I thought I owed it to all to come back and leave a small post script about the pinon' natural wood incense that comes with this, and all of the burners in this line. If you are someone that is used to incense being very rich, sweet, or intense, you may find this particular one rather bland. Its scent is that of a smoky fireplace burning in your home. A fresh, natural, woodsy smell. Not at all a burnt smell, but definitely a smoky aromatic. If you like your incense occasionally subtle, or just wish for something less intense once in a while, you will very much enjoy this pinon'. One last thing, this is a natural wood incense, and it tends to burn like kindling. One brick lasts about half as long as a similar size cone incense. But since its scent lingers for hours like most other incense, I do not consider it a reason for rejection. I recommend it if you are in the mood for a woodsy, roaring fire atmosphere...
