(More customer reviews)As of today, I await resolution for a presumably defective product-after only ~ 2 weeks use, the inside part of the filter holder came apart. I wrote a request for replacement via Amazon and received no answer from smallappliances.com. On 4/30/09, I contacted the company directly by phone and spoke to Reggie to explain what had happened. He promptly informed me that the item was not returnable because it was "used." I explained to him that I would expect such an item to last more than a few weeks and am simply asking for a replacement, not a refund. He indicated again that "it was not returnable" but would escalate it to a manager for consideration. Further, I was advised I would hear back within 48 hours. I hopefully await, as I want to have faith that this company will do the right thing. However, they did not respond the first time through my amazon request, so I am truly only hopeful.
DO NOT DO business with smallappliances.com if you want to avoid "sorry no can do right by customer" attitude from them! I want to call out that this is NOT a bad reflection on Amazon but on smallappliances.com. I have had great experiences so far with Amazon.com.
Epilogue: smallappliances.com FINALLY did come around and replace the defective filter holder. It's a shame it took such drama to do right by a customer.
