(More customer reviews)First of all, the top did not come with the zipper as pictured which would have provided a better grip surface. Instead, it came with a thin ring (think cheap keychain) that made indentations in my fingers when I use it to lock/unlock the lid (yes, you need to use this ring to twist the lid).
The mesh looks fine enough, but tea leaves still end up in the thermos so I'm not sure how they are escaping.
I use this tea cone and hook the chain onto the lid of my nissan stainless king Thermos Stainless King SK1005MB4 16-Ounce Leak-Proof Travel Mug, Midnight Blue since the mesh is finer than the nissan tea tumbler 12 oz Tea Tumbler with Infuser in Black that many reviewers raved about; that one let a lot more tea leaves through. This way, I get 16oz of tea rather than 10oz, don't have to switch caps to drink, and the tea stays hot for hours.
The tea cone can hold about 1 tablespoon of tea leaves. I drink herbal tea so just let it steep in the thermos rather than remove after half an hour. With the tea tumbler, I have to dump the tea leaves when I switch lids.
Still searching for a filter where tea leaves won't end up in my thermos. I give this 3.5 stars.
*EDIT*
Dropped my tea cone on the counter the other day and some tea leaves came out. Seems the edge of the lid is not completely sealed. Mystery solved.
